Ritz Carlton Key Biscayne Padel

Long time tennis staple in Key Biscayne with their signature mesh fencing and designer pillars give the place a nice aesthetic in a tropical paradise. Busy programming for adult and junior lessons. Used by the locals. Safe environment with kids riding their bike to tennis. Nicely maintained courts. They have also added Padel courts (see video) but no pickleball. The property needs a facelift as it’s older and warn but still a nice spot to play tennis with an enthusiastic staff a few steps away from the ocean.

I booked a padel clinic and was still charged despite cancelling. There was no cancellation notice on the app when I went to cancel so I assumed I was in the clear. Wrongfully so, because I was still charged. When I spoke to the club staff they refused to refund me and pointed me to the “fine print”. It’s extremely deceitful and I have cancelled my upcoming Padel clinics. I was intending in taking private classes as well and tennis clinics. So the potential thousands the club could have made off me are now forfeited because they refused to give me grace for a cancelled clinic. In addition to all that, the facilities are extremely run down. So unless you are a resident of Key Biscayne it is truly not worth the drive. I was willing to overlook this because the instructors are lovely but overall I’ve had a horrible experience.

Great facility but probably the worst Rits Carlton hotel I have stayed around the world in terms of service. I made several attempts to connect to concierge, front desk, in room dining, house keeping from the room by phone, but 95% of time got voice message service which cut me off after an automated message saying the voice mail box is full, and I was staying on the penthouse floor! Overpriced for an individual stay, as I paid over 1k usd a night, and I get a bill for the next room by their mistake learned that group discount reduces price by half.

Very nice coaches! Excellent courts! Programs for everyone. Really recommend!
